Hello! I'm Bill Allison. Yes! I too was brought up on trout fishing and big game hunting in New Zealand. With over 28 years dedicated to the sport, Trout'n'Trophy have continued to provide a guided fly fishing service in the summer months and trophy hunting for the winter period. Sharing with those that have similar interests, we plan fully guided individual fishing and hunting trips for all seasons in Canterbury and Westland regions of the South Island of New Zealand.

New Zealand Vacation Packages for Fly Fishing - Trophy Hunting - Bird Shooting

New Zealand Fly Fishing
Accommodation is private home stay in Canterbury or holiday home in Westland.
Daily excursions to spring creeks, lakes and major rivers on both sides of the Southern Alps makes an idyllic setting in the quest for trout. If you want the best take time out. Minimum 2 days Optimum 5 days.
Helicopter daily fly out or camp out fishing tours are some of our best you will experience.

Deer Hunting & Trophy Hunts
Private accommodation or Country Lodge of choice with meals supplied.
Both wilderness and/or private properties are used throughout the South Island of New Zealand to provide for all our big game species. Free range big game hunting is standard for most species.

Hunting packages may be arranged to suit a non-hunter in the party while other packages are more suited to the serious trophy hunter who wants more time to hunt for a better trophy.

A budget wilderness hunt package is on offer for those with better than average fitness. Species: Tahr, Chamois and Red stag, Wild boar, Goat and Wallabies.

The Trophy Hunter's packages all offer silver medal trophies with gold medal available as an upgrade.

Game Bird Shooting
Private properties in our local "high country areas" are used for Canada Geese and Paradise Shellduck for decoy and jump shooting.

As these two game birds are available most of the year, they are our main focus. Often this shoot can be arranged to fit around a big game hunts. Decoys and guns and ammunition can be supplied.  


Our Hunting Package Price Includes:

  • Guide: Big game 2 hunters per guide: Bird shooting 4 shooters per guide
  • Accommodation & meals                                                                     
  • Camping equipment supplied as required 
  • Guide fee
  • Trophy fee
  • Fishing or hunting licence
  • GST tax 12.5%
  • Travel 4WD and/or helicopter on a pro rata basis 
  • Terms and conditions of payment on application
  • Each tour starts and returns to Christchurch.


Our Package Price Excludes:

  • Personal outdoor clothing
  • Rifles (Blaser 6mm & 7mm magnum is available for hire)
  • Taxidermy (field preparation/expediting by arrangement)
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Upgrades at any time: (provided on request)
  • Exchange rate calculated on the day of payment.
