Hello! I'm Bill Allison. Yes! I too was brought up on trout fishing and big game hunting in New Zealand. With over 28 years dedicated to the sport, Trout'n'Trophy have continued to provide a guided fly fishing service in the summer months and trophy hunting for the winter period. Sharing with those that have similar interests, we plan fully guided individual fishing and hunting trips for all seasons in Canterbury and Westland regions of the South Island of New Zealand.

- Trout fishing, fly & nymph fishing for rainbow trout and brown trout in lakes rivers & streams

March - August
- Big game trophy hunting for Red Stag, Fallow Stag, Bull Tahr (Tahr), Buck Chamois

May-July {note extended season}
- Game bird shooting {Ducks} Limited Season May-July
- Canada Goose and Paradise Shell duck {Extended season} May -November & January -April

Where
Some of New Zealand's best wilderness fishing and hunting is found in Canterbury and Westland with the Southern Alps splitting the two areas. It has to be one of nature's remote frontiers. It is an area that offers all a sports person would want. Especially for trout fishing and big game trophy hunting.


What We Do
Our guiding service began earnestly in 1986, introducing sports people to the art of trout fishing with fly and nymph or hunting big game or seasonal game bird shooting.

  • All hunting or fishing trips start and return to Christchurch, South Island of NZ.
  • Accommodation is private home stay or local country lodges or motels.
  • We offer a quality fishing and hunting guiding service by assuring enjoyment, safety and results.
  • The guide is myself at all times with assistance guides only if required.
  • We offer individually planned fishing or hunting trips with most programs extending over a    5-12 day period.
  • For the ultimate experience and assured success, try at least 7-10 days.
  • All bookings are exclusive to you with no ovelapping with similar tours
